Fake Notice Spurs Confusion for Gujarat Students

Panic shot through WhatsApp groups and Telegram channels this week after a suspicious notice started making the rounds, stating that the Gujarat Board would declare Class 12 Science and GUJCET 2025 results on April 17. The document, styled to mimic an official GSEB announcement, spread like wildfire, leaving students and parents on edge.

But there’s one problem—it's completely bogus. Officials at the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) have rubbished the viral notification as fake, calling it “baseless” and “misleading.” They stressed they haven’t committed to any date for result announcements, especially not as early as mid-April.

When Are Results Actually Expected?

When Are Results Actually Expected?

Keen to calm the nerves of thousands of confused students, GSEB sources pointed out some facts. Historically, the board has released 12th Science results—and GUJCET 2025 marks—no sooner than the first week of May. Last year and the year before, the announcements came between May 2 and 9, sticking to a familiar post-exam pattern. GUJCET results usually show up soon after the Class 12 Science results, giving students some time to digest their marks before moving on to the next round of admissions and counseling.

So, if you’ve marked April 17 on your calendar, it’s time to grab an eraser. The board says it’s still processing exam data and hasn’t finalized dates. Students and parents should watch for official notifications only on the GSEB website—gseb.org—and ignore all viral messages or social media forwards until you see a verified update. GSEB also releases news through its affiliated schools and official media channels, so if it’s not on those, it’s not authentic.

This isn’t the first time students have had to dodge fake news about exam results, but the scale of this recent notice has been bigger, probably because of the anxiety in the post-exam season. The board is urging everyone to stay alert. If you see a message about result dates, double-check that it comes from the actual Board, not a friend-of-a-friend’s uncle’s cousin.

As result season approaches, expect the rumor mill to go into overdrive. But if you focus only on the real updates from Gujarat Board, it’ll save you from needless stress.
